This is my first visit to Kurokawa Onsen (黒川温泉) from Kumamoto. It is located in Kumamoto Prefecture and close to Mt. Aso. It is one of Japan most magnificent natural Hot spring & resort, that attract not only Japanese but foreigner too!
The best thing of Kurokawa Hot Spring waters are cooled in-between 40°C – 42°C. How to get in: Public Transport
There are various way to go Kurokawa Onsen from Kyushu but the best as well as nearest from Kumamoto as you can see in below map.
There is only “Kyushu Odan Bus (九州横断バス)” that connect to Kurokawa. You can ride the bus from Kumamoto Sta. The one way trip between Kumamoto Sta. to Kurokawa Bus Stand, it takes around 3 hours (cost 2500 Yen) in the lap of nature. For more details about booking click here…

Yukata Rental:
Must try “Yukata” and walk around the city. It makes you feel like Japanese and shoot some unforgettable memories.
Eat:
Kurokawa is a treasure of foods and specially known for Soba (rice noodle), Beef, Basasi (horse) and Sweets. If you want to have lunch and the hot spring view is Mt. Aso then, you must go to Iromomiji Soba Restaurant (彩もみぢ)
Summery:
If you are in Japan and tired with your daily life, then you must visit Kurokawa Onsen “Most attractive hot springs”. It’s worth while to stay their at-least 1 night @ Ryokan (温泉). But, if you are going for the same day tour for Kurokawa Onsen, or, you are on business tour and have only few hours but don’t know what to do? Then I would recommend you to take a Onsen-Hopping Pass @1300 Yen.
